We are adding an announcement list to allow the board to send emails to all who subscribe to the list.

Our hosting company DreamHost has some policies around announcement lists to prevent spam. These are that only those who request to be on the list may be added, and each person added must confirm that addition. All announcements must contain an unsubscribe link. And there must be a stated privacy policy.

Our privacy policy is that we only keep information to maintain an internal membership list and will not disclose that. The membership directory does have some information about members and that requires a login. It is the intention of the association to protect member privacy.
